Psychodynamic Therapy

“It’s not only what we have inherited from our father and mother that walks in us. It’s all sorts of dead ideas, and lifeless old beliefs, and so forth. They have no vitality, but they cling to us all the same…”
-Henrik Ibsen

Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in traditional psychoanalysis founded by the Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud. Developed as a simpler, less-lengthy alternative to psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapy addresses the foundation and formation of psychological processes in order to alleviate psychological distress.

In practice: Together we will explore emotions, thoughts, early-life experiences and beliefs to gain insight into your life and present-day problems. You will be aided in identifying recurring patterns, internalised at an early age, that without your best interest at heart govern your actions and more often than not are the cause of internal and external conflicts.

Through gentle dismantling of resistance and emotional reactivity you will connect more deeply to your core self, that holds your true feelings and longings. The key-components of creating a happy fulfilled life.
